About

Essex Social Club was created by two people who love to party that just so happened to marry each other.

Beau Burtnick has worked in hospitality for more than 25 years — He makes the best margarita in the world, knows everything about wine, and loves arranging florals.

Maddy Lewis loves drinking Beau’s margaritas, would’ve been a set designer in another life, and has strong opinions on overhead lighting.

Both are Virgo suns and Pisces moons…a blessing and a curse, but the ideal combo for throwing great parties.

We wanted to create something to help take the pressure off hosting — When it comes down to it, Essex Social Club is about prioritizing human connection, celebrating for the sake of celebrating, and being fully present with those around you. Get your guest list together, and let’s party!

How far in advance should I start planning an event?

We recommend reaching out 4–6 weeks in advance for smaller gatherings and about 2 months ahead for larger events or dates during peak party seasons. That said, if your event is coming up sooner, feel free to contact us—we’re always happy to see what’s possible!

Do you offer full-service event production or general support with planning?

Both! Some clients come to us for end-to-end planning and on-site coordination, while others need help refining a concept, sourcing vendors, or managing the day-of details. We tailor our level of involvement to what’s most helpful for you.

Can you work with my preferred vendors?

It depends! We’re happy to collaborate with vendors you already love, as long as they align with the scope and style of your event. We have a handful of local vendors we partner with, but we love handling most of the details — that’s the fun part!

How do pricing and packages work?

We offer tiered packages based on the size and scope of the event. After an initial conversation, we’ll recommend an option that aligns with your vision and budget, create a contract for your review with a clear price breakdown.

Notes from Guests

What I loved most was how refreshing it felt compared to the disposable, low-quality decorations I’d used in the past. The sustainable approach—without any cheap, throwaway decor—made the entire event feel more special and memorable.

I’ve had the privilege of attending many of Maddy’s events - birthday parties, Halloween parties, 4th of July parties, and many more, and each has been a uniquely curated experience. She can transform a vision into a flawlessly executed, stress-free event that is simply BEAUTIFUL!

The themed cocktails were exceptional and such a delight; having restaurant-quality drinks served at a private home event felt incredibly special.

— Another happy guest

Essex Social Club captures that buzzy feeling of a great night out in New York City—rhythmic, unique, and FUN. In a place where the restaurant scene has felt limited, they recreate the magic of going out right in your own home.

I attended a “Harvest Moon” event styled and catered by Maddy and her team, and it was truly one of the best events I’ve ever experienced. The intimate setting was brought to life through her stunning styling—it felt like stepping onto the set of Practical Magic, warm, enchanting, and effortlessly beautiful.

Essex Social Club is a fantastic choice for anyone seeking professionalism, creativity, impeccable taste & attention to detail, all the while working with someone who is just delightful.
